Join us at The Gardens for Make Music Madison Saturday, June 21! We’re part of a city-wide event featuring free, outdoor mini concerts. In all, there are more than 380 performances planned at 100-plus venues, including our senior living community, The Gardens, at 602 N. Segoe Rd. Continuous music starts at The Gardens at 9 a.m. Saturday with 12 individuals, duos, ensembles and groups taking turns through 7 p.m. Saturday. Access to The Gardens performance area is easy; just use the walking path that connects Segoe Road to Rennebohm Park and look for the signs.
This is Madison’s second annual free, outdoor music festival, always held on or near the Summer Solstice. The goal is to generate a continuous wall of music as people go from place to place. There now are more than 700 communities around the world celebrating the Summer Solstice with a music festival.
What Is Make Music Madison?
Make Music Madison is: Performed by Anyone, Enjoyed by Everyone
A way to celebrate the summer solstice and the longest day of the year while sampling a buffet of musical merriment
A DIY city-wide celebration when almost any way to make music can and will happen
Make Music Madison is open to music makers of all ages, skill levels, and musical persuasions.
Some performances may start early or go late, or take advantage of natural commuter times, but public spaces throughout Madison — sidewalks, parks, and more — become impromptu musical stages, dance floors, and social meeting points.
