The Evening Meals on Wheels program operated by Independent Living, Inc., recently was awarded grants from the Richard J. McGrath Endowment Fund at Heritage Credit Union, Alliant Energy Foundation, and Madison Community Foundation. This is important support for the program, says Addie Endreson, manager of Evening Meals on Wheels.
The grants from Heritage Credit Union and Alliant Energy Foundation will underwrite the expenses for four months of meal trays. The grant from Madison Community Foundation will create an interim subsidy for low-income frail elders who are on our waiting list for a permanent meal subsidy. The funds will cover 50 percent of the cost of the meal for eligible seniors in the greater Madison area. Inquiries are welcome. Contact Addie at 608-204-0923 or at email@example.com.
